Donald B. LaBrune

Donald B. LaBrune, age 93, of Woodstock, MN passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at the Pipestone County Medical Center under Hospice Care.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at the St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Woodstock with Msgr. Gerald Kosse officiating.  Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 pm on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Woodstock with a prayer service being held at 7:00 pm.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday.  Burial will be in the St. Martin’s Catholic Cemetery.  Online condolences may be placed at www.chandlerfa.com .  The Chandler Funeral Association is caring for the family.

Donald married Dorothy Kotchian on June 21, 1949.  Donald always wanted to be a forest ranger, but was needed on the family farm, until he retired to Holland in 1996.  Donald enjoyed reading, gardening, caning chairs, and restoring gas engines.  Donald was a kind and humble man known for his integrity, sense of humor, and easy rapport with anyone.  He was recently honored as Grand Marshall for the Holland 125th Celebration Parade, being the oldest gentleman in town.  Also, he was honored at Ruthton’s 125th Celebration for being the oldest male graduate.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy; one son, Timothy (Joyce) LaBrune; five daughters, Barb Anderson, Susan (David) Schaff, Diane Harding, Kathleen LaBrune, and Nancy (Larry) Deutsch; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Mary LaBrune, and three siblings, Mary Molls, Mildred Pulcher, and Bernard LaBrune.  Blessed be his memory.
