Ruby Evelyn (Dierenfeld) Kreun

Ruby E. Kreun , 92, of Chandler, MN died Wednesday, June 03, 2015 at the Edgebrook Care Center in Edgerton.   Visitation will be held on Sunday June 7, 2015 at the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Visitation will continue from 9:30-10:30 a.m., followed by the service at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 8, 2015 at Chandler Reformed Church, Chandler, MN.   Rev. Nate Huisman and Rev. Terry Muller will officiate.   Pallbearers are James Sieh, John Anthony, Matt Hugen, Chris Menning, David Graham, Joe Ruppert, and Micah Muller. The family chose the songs How Great Thou Art, Just a Closer Walk with Thee, Face to Face and In the Garden as the congregational hymns. Interment will be at the Chandler Memorial Cemetery, Chandler, MN.  The family requests Memorial gifts to be designated for the Chandler Reformed Church or the Chandler Christian School.

Ruby Evelyn Kreun was born August 16, 1922 to William and Elizabeth (Neuman) Dierenfeld on a farm near Holland, MN.  She was the youngest of four children. Ruby was baptized in the Christian faith, and made profession of her faith at the Chandler Reformed Church.   She attended elementary schools in Lyon and Pipestone Counties before graduating 8th grade in Canby, MN.  During her teenage years the family moved to Chandler, MN.
On August 22, 1944, Ruby married Henry Kreun in the Chandler Reformed Church.  During their married life they lived on Henry’s family farm, called “Valley View” west of Chandler.  They then moved to a farm southeast of Chandler called, “Pleasant Acres” in 1951.  When they retired, they moved into Chandler in 1989.  They both moved to Edgebrook Care Center in October, 2012.
Ruby helped her husband on the farm, while they also raised eight children.  Ruby enjoyed music, playing piano, guitar and accordion. She also enjoyed gardening, bird watching, photography, sewing, writing and reading.  Ruby was a member of the Chandler Reformed Church and was very active in the Ladies Aid and at the Chandler Christian School where their children attended. She also took an active part in 4-H by being a leader when her children were members.
On Wednesday, June 03, 2015, Ruby joined her Heavenly Father at the age of 92.
Ruby is survived by one son, Daniel Kreun of Marshall, MN; six daughters, Esther (Robert) Graham of Cleveland, OH, Laura (Terry) Muller of Stronghurst, IL, Anna (Don) Godeke of Hollandale, MN, Phyllis Van Es of Grinnell, IA, Karen (Chuck) Dorner of Sobieski, WI, and Deborah (Leon) Callahan of Garretson, SD; daughter-in-law, Debbie Kreun of Russellville, AR; fourteen grandchildren; thirty one great-grandchildren.
Ruby will be having an extended family reunion with her parents, her husband, Henry John Kreun; an infant brother, William Dierenfeld, and brother, Wallace Dierenfeld, sister, Sylva (Dierenfeld) Schuur; one son, Samuel Kreun; one son-in-law, James Van Es; and 1 grandson, Timothy Godeke; and many others that have gone before her.
