Thomas Leon Hansen

Thomas L. Hansen, age 72, of Lake Wilson, MN passed away at his home on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013.  Visitation service will be held at the Chandler Funeral Chapel on Friday, Dec. 27, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.   A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 28 at 1:30 p.m. at the Chandler Funeral Chapel with a time for family and friends to share memories.  A private burial will be held at a later time at St. Martin's Cemetery, Woodstock.

Thomas "Tommy" Hansen was born on October 27, 1941 to Harold and Josephene (Goeppel) Hansen in Slayton, Minnesota.  He grew up on a farm west of Lake Wilson and graduated from Lake Wilson High School.

On March 16, 1973, Thomas was united in marriage to Pam Petersen in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  They made their home in the Lake Wilson area where Tommy was a Dairy Farmer.  Tommy moved to a farm outside of Lake Wilson in 1977 where he milked cows from 1977 until 2005.  He was a member of the Prairie Village Historical Society of Madison, SD.
Tommy enjoyed thrashing, old tractors, especially Case, farming, cows, tractor shows and tractor pulling contests.  He even competed with a tractor pulling contest  in Madison, SD.

Tommy passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 21, 2013 on his farm at the age of 72 years old.
He is survived by his children, Jeff (Becky) Hansen of Lake Wilson, and Lea (Corey) Brand of Minneapolis, MN; siblings, Pat Demuth of Currie, and Mildred Strand of Lake Wilson, and grandchildren, Winona and Jackson.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Pam in 2003, his parents, brother, Harold Jr., and 2 brothers-in-law, Eddie Demuth and Desmond Strand.
